My Observation

 Teacher’s Evaluation Sheet

1- Rapport & learner’s involvement:
The teacher –sts relationship seemed to be built on trust. Although she tried to call some silent students and make them cooperative in this way, still several sts were not participating.T.T.T was really high.

2- Language approach & level adaptation :
The speech was generally adapted to sts level, but a few times she made use of complicated structures and difficult words.Also her voice was loud enough and comprehensible.

3- Clear instruction & task management:
The instruction was merely presented by the teacher.She could let them to read the instruction on their own,then explain to their partner,so they would discover it by themselves.Also it would be useful to set a time limit for some tasks.

4- Meaningful content with a communicative focus :
Although she had some Q which could be used as a source of communication, but she didn’t make a good use of them. She could put them on board asking sts to talk in groups or pairs rather than asking individuals.

5- Effective whole class ,group or individual activities :
No real group work/pair work was seen Though the class aimed to be discussion one,sts could work in groups or pairs first to come to some ideas,to share with the class.

6- Managing sub-skills and sequences:
The students practice some act of speaking,reading and a very short writing.It would be better to have all the skills practised in one session.


7 -Monitorship ,assessment and feedback:
She could walk more in the class while sts working in pairs/groups,helping them with their problems and encourage them.The point is that since there were not enough a pair/group work so in effect there could not be much feedback. For individual activities there was a feedback ,but again the teacher was reading the instruction and not the sts.

8- Error treatment:
Only a few times the teacher corrected the sts’s mistakes. Almost no peer/self correction was encouraged. She could also put the mistakes on the word so everybody could notice and come across it.

9- Recognizing and ,meeting the objective :
The objective of the class was to provide a chance for everyone to take park in a discussion directed by the teacher,which was not met.It seemed the teacher didn’t have a clear lesson plan to reach the objective,& some sts were simply not taking any single part.

10 Miscellaneous:
She was a friendly,helpful teacher.
